Duren "Porky" Holt Jr., 71, of Cowpens, SC, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at his home. Born August 23, 1944, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Duren Holt Sr. and Juanita Vassey Holt. A U. S. Army National Guard veteran of 25 years, Mr. Holt was a member of Converse Baptist Church as well as a Mason and Shriner. He loved spoiling his granddaughter and enjoyed riding motorcycles and cooking. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Paula Mathis Holt; daughter, Marie Holt Vickery (Ronnie) of Roebuck, SC; granddaughter, Julia Vickery; and sisters, Brenda Adair of Cowpens, SC and Joan Burnette of North Carolina. Visitation will be 11:00 AM-12:45 PM Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Mike Davis and the Rev. Bobby McFalls. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 110 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307; or Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
