Duff Green Porter, 84, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, December 17, 2015, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital-Spartanburg. Born August 9, 1931, in Saltville, VA, he was the son of the late John Crump Porter and Ardelia Ruth Mitchell Porter. Mr. Porter received his Mechanical Engineering Degree from Virginia Tech and was a U. S. Army veteran. Duff and Eleanor lived in Baton Rouge, LA for over 40 years and were long standing members of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Duff and Eleanor moved to Spartanburg three years ago and are members of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church. Duff is retired from Reynolds Metals Company. Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Eleanor Clayton Porter; daughters, Diane Miller (Brian) of Virginia Beach, VA and Carol Stephen (Michael) of Boiling Springs, SC; grandchildren, Oscar Judd, Jr. (Carman), Mandy Anderson (Mike), and Dillon Miller (Kirby); great-granddaughter, Porter Grace Anderson; and sister, Peggy Boyd of Richmond, VA. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Jack Porter, Jr. The family will host a memorial service at 11:00, Wednesday, December 23, at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 400 Dupre Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev.
