Dr. Henry Skeen Ritchie, 75, of Spartanburg, died at his home. Born January 21, 1934, in Richmond, VA, he was the son of the late George Gordon Ritchie, Sr. and Mary Wynn Skeen Ritchie. He was a graduate of the University of Virginia, a retired psychiatrist, and a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Survivors include his former wife, Rose Mary Ritchie; four sons, Dr. William Gordon Ritchie of Charlotte, NC, Dr. Thomas Christopher Ritchie (Maj. U.S. Army) and his wife Duyen, Stephen Prince Ritchie and his wife Rosane, all of Alexandria, VA, and Stuart Carrington Ritchie and his wife Abbey of Chestertown, MD; two daughters, Kathryn Wynn Mann and her husband Jeff of Spartanburg, and Mary Pennington Ritchie of Charlottesville, VA; eight grandchildren, Neal Mann, Victoria Mann, Alastair Mann, Ealon Mann, Grayson Mann, Brittaney Ritchie, Samantha Ritchie, and Christopher Ritchie; and two sisters, Mary Jane Johann and her husband Billy, and Bruce Gordon Spain, all of Richmond, VA. He was predeceased by a brother, Dr. George Gordon Ritchie, Jr. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Dr. George N. Gray. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Television Ministry, 250 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306; or to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
