Dr. Wayne Frank Hyatt, 54, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Born December 9, 1960 in Columbia, SC, and reared in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of Frank Hyatt of Spartanburg, and the late Bobbie Jean Price Hyatt. Dr. Hyatt a graduate of USC Upstate, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Gardner-Webb University, was a licensed marital and family therapist. He was an adjunct professor of Converse College, former minister to senior adults at Morningside Baptist Church, Chaplain of the City of Spartanburg Police and Fire Departments, facilitator of Survivors of Suicide (SOS) since 2000, an avid hunter and Carolina Gamecock fan. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Diane Ketchum Hyatt; daughters, Kaylie Marie Hyatt, Lindy Nicole Hyatt and Shelley Renee Hyatt, all of Spartanburg; and granddaughter, Brooklyn Nicole Hyatt. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Carol Hyatt. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be at 4:30 PM on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at Milestones Church, 885 Simuel Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29301, conducted by the Rev. Hub Blankenship, the Rev. Rob Brown, and Chaplain Deborah Eadie.
