Dr. Edward H. Frost, 67, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, July 19, 2018, at his home. Born December 31, 1950, in California and reared in Myrtle Beach, SC, he was the son of the late Edward Harold Frost Sr. and Mary Trent Frost. Ed loved surfing and being on the black water of the Waccamaw River. He was a graduate of USC and MUSC where he received his Medical Degree with a specialty in Family Practice. His military service in the U. S. Navy included a year in Antarctica and several years as Base Doctor for the Marines on Parris Island, Beaufort, SC. Following his Navy service, he worked in both Greenville and Spartanburg as an Emergency Room Physician. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Dr. Frost will be remembered for his easy caring way with patients and sense of fun with staff. Ed was thankful for his good neighbors on a wonderful street. A special thanks is expressed to neighbors, Jane & John Bottsford, Lisa & Roy McCulley, and the late Charlie Boone. Survivors include his daughters, Mary Ellen Rundorff (Caleb) and Rebecca Carino; three grandchildren, Lynlee, Lola, and Andy; and his former wife, Pam Frost. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Historic St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 161 N. Dean St., Spartanburg, SC 29302, by The Rev. David R. Whitman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303. Ed is at peace now and will be fondly remembered by many for his big laugh and equally big personality.
