Bob Arnott, 69, of 173 Stribling Circle, died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at his home. Born August 18, 1941, in Cornwall, NY, he was the son of the late Robert Richardson and Florence Edmunds Arnott. Bob retired, after 37 years of service as a research chemist, from Milliken & Co., and had many production patents. His academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science Degree from Clarkson College of Technology in 1963, a Masters Degree from Georgia Tech in 1966, where he also taught post-graduate school while earning his Doctorate Degree which he received in 1970. He was a Boy Scout Leader and also had a love for animals, especially his horse Buck and his dog Molly. Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Carol Edelen Arnott; his son Lloyd C. True Jr. and his wife Janet of California; two daughters, Crystal Streacker and her husband Shawn of Inman, and Misty Hayes and her husband Jimmy of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Amanda Basinger and her husband Doug of Chesnee and Andrew Garcia of the home, who were raised by Bob and Carol following the death of their mother; Chynna True of California, Josh and Samantha Streacker of Inman, Meadow Hayes of Spartanburg; and great-grandchildren, Brandon, Lynndsey, and Julia Basinger, all of Chesnee. He was predeceased by his daughter, Shanna True and his brother Richard Arnott. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. David Wilson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615. The family is at the home.
