Doyle Willard Boggs, Jr.

Doyle Willard Boggs, Jr., Ph.D., 75, of Spartanburg, passed away on Saturday morning, November 4, 2023. Dr. Boggs was born on September 20, 1948, in Charlotte, NC, a son of the late Carrie Carroll Boggs and Doyle Willard Boggs, Sr. He was married to Sara Nell Dalnodar Boggs for nearly 49 years.

Dr. Boggs was a retired Associate Vice President of Communications and Marketing at Wofford College. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and was a veteran of the Army National Guard.

Along with his wife, Dr. Boggs is survived by his sons, Jay W. Boggs (Bridget) of Leesburg, VA, and Ryan D. Boggs of Spartanburg; his daughter, Carrie Nell Burdett (Chip) of Piedmont, SC; his five loving grandchildren, Abigail, Caitlin, Keira, Sophie and Bo; and his sister, Rev. Carol Clark of Little Rock, AK.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2023, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartnburg, SC 29307.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 290 East Main Street, Spartnburg, SC 29302, conducted by the Rev. David R. Whitman.
