Doyle B. Allison, 80, of 838 Rice Road, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 25, 2011. Born January 20, 1931 in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Lloyd David and Faye Grant Allison Taylor. A retired U. S. Army veteran of the Korea Conflict and the Vietnam War, he was a Bronze Star recipient and taught at West Point Military Academy. He was the owner of Allison Heating and Air and a member of Second Presbyterian Church. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, the VFW, the Mill Village Masonic Lodge # 360, and the Rakkasans Club. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Marjorie Lewis Allison; daughters, Debra A. Williamson, Angela A. Harley, and Margie Webb; son, Doyle Allison, Jr.; sisters, Mildred A. George, June Bailey, and Sarah Beth Quinn; and brothers, Ed Allison and Gerald Taylor. He was predeceased by a daughter, Amanda Allison. Visitation will be 2:30-3:15 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 at Second Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the church, conducted by the Rev. Steven H. Rhodes. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex.
