Douglas E. Sexton, 82, of Drayton, SC, died Monday, March 16, 2015, at his home. A native of Clinton, SC, he was the son of the late Edmond V. and Bonnie Woody Sexton. He was of the Baptist faith, a veteran of the U. S. Army, a Mason, a Shriner, an avid golfer, and retired from Draper Corporation and Drayton Mill. Surviving are his wife, Jo Ann Thomas Sexton; three daughters, Kimberlyn S. Ball (Ronnie) of Woodruff, Tamanda S. Kirby (Richard) and Dawn S. Hammitt of Spartanburg; two sons, David D. Sexton (Charlie) of Belmont, NC and Aulbrey Calvert (Judy) of Union, SC; one sister, Bernice S. Croy (James) of Clinton, SC; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, William Stanford Sexton. A private graveside service was conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 18, 2015, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by Chaplain Paulette Porter-Hallmon. Visitation followed at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children-Crippled Children Division, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
