Wayne Padgett, 64, of Aiken, SC, entered into heaven Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center with family close by. Born December 13, 1951 in Augusta, GA, he was the son of C. Louis Padgett Sr. and Lucille Johnson Padgett. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Wanda Johnson Padgett; son, Adam Douglas Padgett (Geri Caitlin) of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Blankenbeckler (Nicholas) of Graniteville, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings Billy, Coley, and Peggy. First and foremost, he was a loving and dedicated husband and father. His interests included: travelling, camping, watching NASCAR, reading, and cooking for others. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and sincerely enjoyed the fellowship there. He was extremely patriotic; closely following politics and current events. During his younger years, he was a University of South Carolina Banking School graduate and an avid businessman as a regional Vice President for NCNB. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Lions Club. Later in his career, he retired from banking to pursue his passion for breeding cattle and producing award-winning hay. At that time, he was an officer in the Southeastern Saler Association. He also spent many adventuresome years travelling across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, in the trucking industry. In accordance with Wayne's wishes, a private family service was conducted.
