Dorothy Barbara Yahres, 100, wife of the late William Edward Yahres, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 18, 2010. Born September 24, 1909, in Westbury, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Lenorak. Dottie embraced life enthusiastically with a vigorous, witty personality. She and her husband of 56 years were avid travelers and loving parents. They raised their children on Long Island, NY, and afterwards lived in several locations before moving to Longboat Key, FL, where they continued to live until his death in 1987. In 2004, she moved with her daughter and son-in-law to Boiling Springs to be closer to her family in the Spartanburg area. She leaves behind a family who will miss her dearly and who will always remember the vivacious mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother they always loved. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Walter and Dorothy Barbara Steinecke of Boiling Springs, and William and Carmen Yahres of Inman; and grandchildren, Laura Yahres of Sarasota, FL, William Yahres and Jewell Silcott of San Diego, CA, Scott Steinecke of Spartanburg, and Kurt Steinecke of Inman.
