Dorothy Sanders

Dorothy "Dot" Mabry Sanders, 91, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born April 29, 1922, in Jonesville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Ney and Mamie Gallman Mabry and widow of Edward James Sanders. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Among survivors are her children, Andrea F. Campbell (Joel) of Laurinburg, NC, and Robert Fowler (Rometta) of Augusta, GA; two grandsons, Joel Christopher Campbell of Wilmington, NC, Andrew Blake Campbell of Charlotte, NC; and two great-grandchildren. A private graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. Special gratitude goes to Peggy Sanders whose constant prayers and faithfulness remained steadfast for Dot and her daughter. Also, gratefulness is expressed to the pastor of Central United Methodist Church, Rev. Alex Stevenson, whose many visits always lifted Dot in her declining health.
