Dorothy Moore

Dorothy Ellis Moore, 100, of Blacksburg, SC, died Saturday, May 28, 2016. Born April 11, 1916 in Cherokee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Marion Lamar and Katie Broome Ellis. She is the widow of Furman "Tince" Moore. Dorothy was retired as a textile spinner. She was a member of Broad River Baptist Church. Survivors include son, Jimmy H. Owens of Gaffney, SC; Wallace L. Owens of Gaffney, SC; Franklin J. Owens of Duncan, SC; Henry G. Joy of Latta, SC; Douglas R. Joy of Blacksburg, SC; 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 19 great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Marvin Ellis of Blacksburg, SC. Visitation will be 10:00 - 10:45 AM Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy. 9 North, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM at the Chapel. Burial will follow in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4081 Hwy 9 North, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Broad River Baptist Church, 419 W.
