Dorothy Mangum

Dorothy Virginia Cudd Mangum, 84, formerly of 643 Maywood Street, Beaumont, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at White Oak Manor of Tryon, NC. Born September 10, 1924, in Cherokee Springs, SC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Maude Hoover Cudd. She was formerly employed at Beaumont Mill and retired from Whitney Mill. She was a member of Eastern Star #231 and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a daughter, Sherry Waliyy of Laurens; three granddaughters, Sarah Elizabeth Mangum and Dorothy Mangum of Michigan, and Tara Lemieszek of Greenville; two grandsons, David Mangum of Spartanburg, and Dwayne Mangum of Illinois; and one great-granddaughter, Chelsea Lemieszek of Greenville. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by a daughter, Patsy "ChiChi" Marcheta; and two sons, Jerry Dan Mangum and Jack Allen Mangum. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2009, at Sunset Memorial Park conducted by the Rev. Douglas Thrift. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
