Dorothy Kelley

Dorothy Lucille Acker Martin Kelley, 78, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, in Landrum. Born January 23, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Veronica Haas Acker. She was first married to the late Roland Martin and then to the late Joseph Kelley. Dorothy was an active member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church and a former payroll clerk for Defense Mapping of St. Louis, MO. Survivors include two sons, Steven and Ron Martin, both of Bellville, IL; six grandchildren, Cori Halbert, Jay, Lynn, Steve, Mike, and Stephanie Martin; two great-grandchildren, Austin Martin and Andi Halbert; two brothers, Norman Acker of Shiloh, IL and Rick Acker of CA; two sisters, Darlene Bryzinski of Louisville, KY, and Jeanette Smith of Millstadt, IL. She was predeceased by two daughters, Cheryl and Sharon Martin. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, April 2, 2011 at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, conducted by the Rev. Robert L. Brown and the Rev. Deacon Leslie F. Horvath. Interment will be in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church Memorial Garden.
