Dorothy "Dot" Simmons Jolley, 88, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at her home. Born in Enoree, SC, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Tinsley and Annie Mae Rook Simmons and widow of Audie Jack Jolley. Mrs. Jolley was retired from the Spartanburg County Department of Social Services and recipient of the Palmetto Award for 42 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg for 63 years and worked with the 10th grade Intermediate Dept. in the 1960's and 1970's. She was also a former member of the Sanctuary Choir, WMU, Young At Heart, and Benevolent Committee. A graduate of Woodruff High School and Cecil's Business College, she was a member of Zonta International, former secretary of the SC Employees Association, and former member of Enoree United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Karen J. Jones (Rick) of Spartanburg; son, Audie Jack Jolley Jr. (Jane) of Roebuck; and granddaughter, Jennifer Leigh Jolley of Roebuck. She was predeceased by a brother, Samuel T. Simmons; sisters, Hattie Sue Simmons and Peggy S. Waldrep; and sisters-in-law, Frances Jolley O'Quinn and Blanche Jolley Hampton. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Davis Chapel of First Baptist Church, Spartanburg, conducted by the Rev. Robert C. Morgan and the Rev. Bill Adams. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. The family is at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Rick Jones, 112 Ridgeway Rd. (Shoreswood), Spartanburg, SC.
