Dorothy Lee Johnson, was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family and creating a loving home. She passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and compassion.
Dorothy was born on June 14, 1933, in Spartanburg, SC growing up in the Ark Wright Mill Village section she learned the values of love, kindness, and family. As she grew older, she settled in Stone Station, Roebuck, where she brought her own unique touch to her home.
One of Dorothy's greatest joys in life was her love for gospel music. She took immense pride in watching her sons perform as the "Young Evangelist." Their voices echoed through the church halls and filled Dorothy's heart with pride. The melodies they created became a source of comfort not only for herself but also for the entire community.
Her kind and loving nature endeared Dorothy to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She cherished every moment spent with her beloved family and friends. will always be remembered as someone who extended a helping hand without hesitation or judgment. Her selflessness knew no bounds.
Dorothy enjoyed being an active member of Stone Station Baptist Church. She found solace in her faith and gladly volunteered her time to support various church activities. This commitment demonstrated her unwavering devotion to serving others.
On Thursday, October 19, 2023, we will gather at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd, Spartanburg to bid farewell to Dorothy and celebrate her remarkable life during a graveside service starting at 10:00 AM.
While we mourn our loss, we take comfort in knowing that Dorothy is now reunited with her beloved husband, Zeno Johnson, who passed away in 1980. She was preceded in death by her father, DeWitt McAbee, and her mother, Marie Pruitt McAbee.
Dorothy is survived by her three sons, Michael Johnson (Sandy), Timothy Johnson, and Bobby Ray Johnson (Deborah). Her unconditional love will continue to be felt through the lives of her four grandsons: Chris Johnson (Carmen), Matthew Johnson, Nicholas Johnson (Kayla), and Joshua Johnson. Dorothy was also blessed with five great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life: Campbell, Collin, Micah, Luke, and Millie..
We remember Dorothy Lee Johnson as a remarkable woman whose life was defined by love, faith, and family. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
