Dorothy "Dot" Wilson Hipp, 91, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, August 17, 2014, at her home. Born February 8, 1923, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late James Oba and Maggie Collins Wilson, and widow of James Henry Hipp. Mrs. Hipp will be remembered for her sacrificial love and dedication to her family. She was a member of Spartanburg First Baptist Church and the Naomi Sunday School Class. She was retired from Bland Moving and Storage. Surviving are her daughters, Debbie Hipp of Spartanburg, Janet Hipp of Greenville, and Julie Cline Harris (Phillip) of Roebuck; granddaughters, Jennifer Cline Brooks (Charlie) of Atlanta, GA, and Laura Cline of Knoxville, TN; great-grandchildren, Callie and Coleman Brooks; and sisters, Jane Wilson of Spartanburg and Libby Wilson Mahaffey (Doug) of Wrens, GA. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Louise Wilson Bradley, Baby Lucille Wilson, James, Raymond, Robert, and Joe Wilson. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Sal Barone. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg County Baptist Network Missions Fund, PO Box 443, Roebuck, SC 29376.
