Dorothy Deichman

Dorothy May Whitmore Deichman, 88, of Spartanburg, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2009, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born May 31, 1920, in Greencastle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert Johnson and Martha Grace Work Whitmore. A graduate of Lancaster General College of Nursing in Lancaster, PA, she previously worked at Spartanburg General Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Mark William Deichman, Jr.; a son, Mark Brian Deichman and his wife Pam, a daughter, Barbara Marie Deichman, and two grandsons, William Bradley Deichman and Mark Garren Deichman, all of Spartanburg. Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. David E. Nichols, the Rev. Dr. Charles A. Graves, and the Rev. David B. Smith. Burial will be in Westwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church Trustee Fund, 245 South Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. The family is at their respective homes.
