Dorothy Coble

Dorothy "Dottie" Wilson Coble, 99, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born November 17, 1917, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late George Russell and Loula Taylor Wilson and widow of Marvin Coble. Mrs. Coble was the eldest member at Fairforest Baptist Church where she was a member for 68 years. She served in the nursery and preschool for nearly 50 years. She was also a member of Young At Heart and retired from Fairforest Elementary School District 6 after 18 years of service. Surviving are her daughter, Suzanne Heaps (Eugene); grandchildren, Joshua Austin Ford and Ashley Suzanne Horton, all of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Marvin Michael Coble and Douglas Wayne Coble; five brothers; and three sisters. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A cryptside service will follow at 11:00 AM conducted by the Rev. Joe Dempsey and the Rev. Don Greene.
