Dorothy Arthur

Dorothy Ellen Arthur, 92, of Spartanburg, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013, at Eden Terrace. Born October 2, 1920, in Strasburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Eula Crabill. Dorothy married Harry L. Matthews (deceased) of Middletown, VA, and settled in Bryn Mawr, VA. She married James L. Arthur (deceased) and continued life in Virginia Beach, VA. She returned to Winchester, VA in April 1989 and remained there until June, 2010 when she returned to Spartanburg, SC. Survivors include two loving children, Ronald Matthews (Donna) of Spartanburg, SC, and Linda Martenson (Steve) of Winchester, VA; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Gloria Johnson of Winchester, VA, Eleanor Miller of Straburg, VA, and Oneida Seitz of Reese, MI. Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 PM, Friday, February 1, 2013 at Jones Funeral Home, 228 S. Pleasant Valley Road, Winchester, VA 22601. A celebration of her life will follow at 3:00 PM.
