Doris Young

Doris Taylor Young, 88, of Spartanburg, formerly of Cowpens, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Emeritus of Skylyn Place. Born October 14, 1923 in Laurens, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Algie and Ola Hill Taylor. She retired as comptroller from Mountainview Nursing Home and was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where she was a former president and life member of the Presbyterian Women, a Deacon, Elder, Circle member and former chairman, and a volunteer in the church office. Survivors include sons, Richard E. Young of Mooresville, NC, William A. Young of Columbia, and Paul S. Young of Lexington; daughter, Doris Y. Greene of Spartanburg; daughter-in-law, Rita H. Young of Spartanburg; grandson, Joseph Christopher Greene, of Lexington; and sisters, Frances T. Julien of Greenwood and Betty T. Suddeth of Clinton. She was predeceased by a son, George Christopher Young, Jr. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 AM Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Joseph Christopher Greene and the Rev. Norman Eugene Lassiter. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
