Doris West

Doris Elizabeth Graham "Buddie" West, 90, of Stone Station, SC, died Sunday, September 7, 2014, at White Oak Estates-Spartanburg. Born September 16, 1923, in Union County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jake and Mary Bogan Graham, and widow of Robert J. West. She was a member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. Surviving is her daughter, Lynn W. Thornton (Jerry) of Spartanburg; son, Stanley West (Carole) of Stone Station; grandchildren, Mark West, Vicki Phillips, Angie Nichols, Brandie Evans, and Brad Thornton; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Harris of Roebuck and Joan Byers of Spartanburg; and brothers, Jack Graham of Walnut Grove and Ray Graham of Roebuck. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Roger D. West; sisters, Vivian Miller, Mary Kate Smith, Margie O'Shields, and Rita Stutt; and brothers, James Robert Graham, Charlie Graham, Donald Graham, and John D. Graham. A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 PM Tuesday, September 9, 2014, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Chris B. Snelgrove. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 9101 Asheville Hwy, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
