Doris Turner

Doris Cooper Turner, 78 of Boiling Springs, SC died Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born February 2, 1943 in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert “RC” Cecil and Bertha “Sis” Lillian Barnett Cooper and the widow of Larry Brice Turner.

Doris was a 1961 graduate of Cowpens High School and was retired from Inman First Baptist Church Child Development Center. She was a member of First Baptist Spartanburg.

Survivors include her daughters, Julia Turner of Boiling Springs, SC, Katrina Fitzgerald (Brett) of Boiling Springs, her sister, Diane Skinner of Boiling Springs, SC, and her grandchildren, Sarah Fitzgerald, Emily Fitzgerald, Keagan Fitzgerald, and Layla Fitzgerald and a special cousin, Beverly Johnson.

Visitation will be 11:30 AM – 12:45 PM Monday, July 19, 2021 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM at the chapel, conducted by Dr. Keith Phillips and Ms. Sherry Smith. Burial will be in First Baptist North Spartanburg Cemetery, 8740 Asheville Hwy., Spartanburg, SC 29316.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Spartanburg Singles Ministry, 250 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
