Doris Thrift

Doris Elaine Brown Thrift, 77, of Cowpens, SC, went home to be with her Savior on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born August 29, 1939, in Cowpens, she was the daughter of the late Elbert and Thaddie Brown and widow of Charles Thrift. A 1957 graduate of Cowpens High School, Mrs. Thrift was a lifelong member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Cowpens and was retired from Copac Inc. Surviving are her daughters, Tammy Moore (Charles) of Cowpens, SC and Shandell Giles of Chesnee, SC; grandchildren, Steven Moore (Sheila) of Cowpens, SC, James Moore (Jaime) of Woodruff, SC, Brint Moore of Cowpens, SC, Brandon Greene of Knoxville, TN, Dallas Taylor, and Kelsei Taylor both of Cowpens, SC; great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Moore, Kiersten Moore, Cody Greer, JR, Jackson, and Jonah Moore, Olyvia Grubbs, Ava Greene and Peyton Rice, and sister, Lois McMakin of Cowpens, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by great-grandson, Elijah Moore, and brothers, Harold Dean Brown, Bill Brown, and Donnie Brown. Visitation will be 1:30-2:45 PM Monday, November 14, 2016, at Mountain View Baptist Church, 650 Battleground Rd., Cowpens, SC 29330. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Steven Griffith. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family is at the home.
