Doris Knox

Doris Annette Lands Knox, 77, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Autumn Care of Saluda, NC. Born November 25, 1935, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late W. W. Lands and Thelma Millwood Lands, and wife of the late Thurman G. Knox. Mrs. Knox loved baking cakes. She was a member of First Baptist of Spartanburg and the Malone Sunday School Class. Survivors include her daughter, Julie Newman of Inman, SC; granddaughter, Lauren Gilbert of Inman, SC; great-granddaughter, Ella Gilbert; and brother, Richard Lands of Spartanburg, SC. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 6, 2013, in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Sal Barone. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, PO Box 127, Landrum, SC 29356.
