Doris Gregory

Doris Evelyn Gregory, 89, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, October 3, 2016, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born September 5, 1927, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Fred McDowell Gregory, Sr. and Biddie Elnora Vehaun Gregory. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Survivors include her sister, Virginia Murrell of Wilmington, NC; brother, Lewis Gregory of Spartanburg, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Betty Horton and Shirley Cooksey. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Arthur Gregory, Jack Gregory, James Gregory, Fred Gregory, and Rev. Boyce Gregory; and sisters, Mae Barton, Laura Gerrell, and Thelma Brown. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2016, in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Gary Long and the Rev. Allen Elder. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family is at their respective homes.
