Doris "Dot" Gilbert

Doris "Dot" Gilbert, 93, a beloved member of the Spartanburg community, passed away on February 23, 2024.  Born on October 11, 1930, in Spartanburg, SC, to the late, Paul B. Rice and Mollie Allen Rice. Doris was the last of Paul and Mollie's six children.

Dot worked for Milliken Research as a Laboratory Technician for 30 years before sharing her warm smile as a Cashier at Community Cash for another 14 years. Her hard work and positive attitude left a lasting impact on all those she encountered. Dot loved the Lord and had an unwavering faith; her vibrant personality made her the "life of the party" everywhere she went. 

Dot is now reunited with her beloved husband, Dupree "Duke" Gilbert, and her daughter, Mollie Ann Gilbert, in eternal peace. 

A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, February 28, 2024 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Service will be conducted by the Rev. Billy Rice and the Rev. David Moore.
