Doris Cochran

Doris Amanda Rodgers Cochran, 74, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center-ER. Born March 18, 1940, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Isom and Laura Gaudlock Rodgers. Mrs. Cochran was a member of Eastside Baptist Church for 30 years, served as a Sunday School Teacher for 50 years, choir member for 30 years, and was past president of the WMU Women's Missionary Union. She was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and retired from JBL Corporation after 20 years of service. Surviving is her loving husband of 53 years, Calvin E. "Buck" Cochran; son, Benji Cochran of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Kaleb Cochran, Andrew Cochran, Jared Seay, and Kaity Seay, all of Spartanburg; brothers, Tommy Rodgers of Greenwood and Marshall Rodgers of Spartanburg; honorary daughter, Kaye Dunnaway; and honorary granddaughter, Melissa Patton. She was predeceased by two brothers, Lewis Rodgers and Arthur Rodgers; and a sister, Mary Ann Ketner. Visitation will be 6:00-9:00 PM Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Eastside Baptist Church, 1850 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Mike Royal. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to the Life Fund at Eastside Baptist Church, 1850 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family is at the home.
