Donest "Granny" Marie Vernon Suttles Langford, 84, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, October 23, 2014, at her home. Born June 23, 1930, in Converse, SC, she was the daughter of the late Dexter Morgan Vernon and Mary Ellen Easler Vernon. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Granny loved her Lord, family and friends. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Cowpens, SC, and was retired from K-Mart and Hardees. Survivors include her sons, Robert Vernon of Cowpens, SC; Ed Suttles of the home; and James Suttles of Gramling, SC; four grandsons; one granddaughter; six great-granddaughters; four great-grandsons; and one great-great-granddaughter. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Amos Suttles, and second husband, Charlie Robert Langford; son, David Keith Vernon; five brothers; and three sisters. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday, October 24, 2014, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Henry Coley.
