Donald Rollins

Donald Ray Rollins, 80, of Una, SC, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born January 1, 1938, in Cliffside, NC, he was the son of the late Rex Rollins and Louise Pearson Nix. A U. S. Navy veteran, Mr. Rollins retired as a boiler technician with Hoechst Celanese after 20 years of service. Devoted to his Lord, family and church, he was a member of Una First Freewill Baptist Church and was very active in his community. He served on the Board of Directors for "Stop the Violence", loved to fish, and was a graduate of Limestone College and Rutledge College. Survivors include his children, Donnie Rollins (Lisa) of Una, SC and Libby Crowe of Arcadia, SC; three granddaughters, Kelsey, Katie, and Catina; four great-grandchildren, Gary, James, Abbie, and A. J.; brothers, Troy Nix of Forest City, NC and John Nix of Mooresboro, NC; sisters, Liz Lambert of Boiling Springs, NC and Judy Dobbins of Shelby, NC; and his first wife, Emma Jane Powell Rollins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Pat Russ. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, April 13, 2018, at Una First Freewill Baptist Church, 2130 Caldwell Road, Una, SC 29378. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Una First Freewill Baptist Church, by The Rev. Kenneth Cash. Burial, with military rites, will be in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, 125 Fort Prince Rd., Wellford, SC 29385. Pallbearers are Paul Suttles, Justin Ridings, Tyler Ridings, Keith Keller, Lee Salazar, and Daniel Salazar.
