Donald Petty Sr.

Donald "Don" Edward Petty Sr., 80, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home-Anderson. Born October 16, 1937, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Edward Petty and Addie Mae Nolan Wright and husband of the late Cassandra Waldrop Petty. A U. S. Navy veteran, Mr. Petty loved western movies. He was a retired electrician, Mason, Shriner, and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his son, Tim Petty of Spartanburg, SC; brothers and sisters, Eddie Petty, Mike Petty, Malcolm Eugene Wright, Ann, Sherri, and Sandi; cousins, J. K. Petty and Barry Petty; and brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Terry Waldrop. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a son, Donnie Petty. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 17, 2018, in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, 125 Fort Prince Rd., Wellford, SC 29385, by The Rev. Gary Hensley.
