Donald Mabry

Donald Ray Mabry, 77, of Spartanburg, died Friday, March 20, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born January 14, 1932, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Jefferson Ernest and Hester Molly Shook Mabry and the husband to the late Jeanette Latha Hyder Mabry. He was retired from Noland Company with 37 years of service, was a member of El Bethel United Methodist Church, and a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors include a daughter, Donette Mabry Burrell and her husband Greg of Wellford; a granddaughter, Leigha Marie Burrell of Wellford; and a brother, Walker Mabry of Wilson, NC. He was predeceased by four brothers, Bill, Earl, Shuford, and Howard Mabry; and four sisters, Dorothy Ashby, Marie McGraw, Viola Chandler, and Loretta Gwinn. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Jack Caldwell and the Rev. James W. Hatchell. Memorials may be made to El Bethel United Methodist Church, 820 South Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306; or to Lyman United Methodist Church, P. O. Drawer 190, Lyman, SC 29365. The family is at the home of his daughter, Donette Burrell, 118 Belair Lane, Wellford.
