Donald Rawlings Bloxham, Sr., 91, formerly of Duncan, South Carolina passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021, in his home with his wife and two sons by his side. Born in Webster, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Harold Carlton Bloxham and Marion Rawlings Bloxham and the brother of the late Harold and Arthur Bloxham.
After graduating from Presbyterian College with a degree in Business, Don earned a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in both History and Education. He was further honored for completing 90 graduate hours through Converse College. Don served four years as a Dentist’s Assistant for the United States Navy. Upon honorable discharge, he enjoyed a teaching career in Spartanburg School District 3. Don never stopped learning—he could be found reading a new book every week!
He is proudly survived by his wife, Shirley Bright Bloxham; his sons, Donald Rawlings, Jr. (Ruthie), and Christopher Harold (Neena); and grandchildren, Andrew (Sarah), Joseph, David, Olivia (Brian), Isabella, Kendall, and Jake.
The family will hold a public memorial service to be conducted by Reverend Ron Towery at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Mount Calvary Presbyterian Church, 1399 Walnut Grove Road, Roebuck, South Carolina 29376.
