Don Clardy

Don La Rue Clardy, 76, of Prosperity, SC, died Monday, February 25, 2013, at his home. Born June 30, 1936, in Arcadia, SC, he was the son of the late Robert Lewis Clardy Sr. and Kate Love Clardy. A veteran of the U. S. Air Force, Mr. Clardy was a retired master plumber, a Mason, and a member of Arcadia First Baptist Church. Surviving are his sister, Emily C. Dickens of Spartanburg; two nephews; and two nieces. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Yvonne Fowler Clardy; and three brothers, Ray, Max, and Lewis Clardy. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 28, 2013, in the Masonic area of Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd, Spartanburg, 29307, by Rev. Gary Hensley. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant Baptist Church Building Fund, 4268 N. Blackstock Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301; or the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615. The family is at their respective homes.
