Dewey Pressley

Dewey Pressley, 89, of Pacolet Mills, died Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at Autumn Care Nursing Home of Forest City, NC. Born October 2, 1920, in Tucapau, SC, he was the son of the late Dallas J. and Minnie Collins Pressley and husband to his beloved wife, the late Rosell Suttles Pressley. He was retired from the textile industry, was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, and of the Baptist faith. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed gardening, and working at the Pacolet Amphitheater. Survivors include a nephew, Dennis Pressley of Cliffside, NC; and other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Lee Floyd; and a brother, Detroit Pressley. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2009, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel conducted by Dr. Kent Cranford. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens.
