Dewey Leslie Nichols, 84, of Spartanburg, died Monday, June 21, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born September 23, 1925 in Glendale, SC, he was the son of the late John Walter and Eva Bagwell Nichols. He was an electrician by trade and was a member of Glendale Methodist Church and Glendale Masonic Lodge # 271. Survivors include his wife, Christine Hunter Nichols; two daughters, Andriette Nichols Painter of Spartanburg and Jennifer Nichols Price and husband Dr. David Price of Summerville; a son, Mark Leslie Nichols of Spartanburg; a granddaughter, Kim Painter French (Buck) of Highlands, NC; two grandsons, Justin Painter (Nicole) of El Paso, TX and Hunter Nichols of the home; two step grandchildren, Alicia Price Duffy (William) of Richmond, VA and Thomas Price (Aileen) of Charleston; and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Graveside services with Masonic Rites will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Services will be led by the Rev. Bill Adams, George Hunter, with readings by Dr. David Price. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family extends a special thanks to the nurses and home care personnel of Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home for making this experience a private and meaningful time.
