Denny Lee

Denny Carroll Lee, 69, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Manning Place-Greer. Born November 11, 1944, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Dalton Lee and Hazel Vasti Gregory Lee. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. A U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Lee was a retired Law Enforcement Officer for the City of Gaffney, SC. He was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and Lake Cooley Baptist Church of Inman, SC. Surviving are his beloved wife of 39 years, Donna Marie Cartee Lee of the home; children, Misty Gettig (Jason) and Ronnie Lee (Luci), all of Campobello, SC, Tracie Herrick and Shannon Sounders, both of New Jersey; grandchildren, Angel, Hanna, Jonathon, and Brady; and great-grandson, Anthony. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Ronnie Lee. Visitation will be 10:00 AM - 12:00 noon Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Funeral services will follow at 12:30 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Mark Cannon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lake Cooley Baptist Church, 2591 Ballenger Road, Wellford, SC 29365. The family is at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Jason Gettig.
