Dennis Jones

Dennis Ryan Jones, 59, of Spartanburg, died Monday, March 16, 2009, at his home after an extended illness. Born July 8, 1949, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of Marilyn P. Jones of Spartanburg and the late Walter Albert Jones, Jr. A 1967 graduate of Spartanburg High School, he attended Spartanburg Methodist College and Wofford College, and was a retired sales representative. He was of the Baptist faith and a resident of Myrtle Beach for many years. Surviving in addition to his mother is a son, Richard Ryan Jones of Spartanburg; a daughter, Stephanie Reynolds Jones of Myrtle Beach; a sister, Ann Jones Slatton of Spartanburg; two grandchildren, Olivia Story Jones and Nathaniel Ryan Jones; and a niece, Olivia Ann Slatton. He was predeceased by a brother, Walter A. (Jody) Jones, III. A private graveside service will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely.
