Decora Ann Eaton

Decora Ann Hill Eaton, passed peacefully into her Savior’s arms on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born July 14, 1939, to the late Game Mitchell and McRuth King Hill, she was a 1958 graduate of Spartanburg High School. She attended Spartanburg Methodist College and was graduated from Cecil’s Business College. Upon graduating from Cecil’s, Ann entered the workforce with Prym Dritz and later Spartanburg Medical Center. She and her husband, the late William L. Eaton, who passed in 2016, enjoyed 61 years together. Ann faithfully supported her husband’s career by becoming a member of the Spartanburg City Police Lady’s Auxiliary, serving in many capacities, including President and Chaplain. 

After being a homemaker, Ann returned to the workforce and retired from Winn-Dixie, Inc. after 29 years of service. Ann enjoyed traveling, especially on cruises and was an avid camper. She also enjoyed sewing, needlecrafts, and baking. A faithful member of River Hills Baptist Church, Ann was devoted to the Circle of Women, the Senior Adult Ministry, and the Chester Bearden Sunday School class. Ann was an encourager and received great joy in remembering others with cards to mark special occasions. 

Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Eaton Bohn of Spartanburg, SC; a son, William Todd Eaton (Laurie) of Littleton, CO; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 am at River Hills Baptist Church, 5762 Reidville Road, Moore, SC 29369. Rev. Kent Smith will officiate, and members of the Chester Bearden Sunday School class will serve as Honorary Escort. Visitation and luncheon reception will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall. 

Flowers can be received between 9:00 am-10:00 am on November 2, 2024, at the church.
