Born September 14, 1928, in Clarendon County, SC, he was the son of the late Richard Charles Richardson and Martha Waring Perry Richardson and husband of the late Betty McDougal Richardson. Mr. Richardson attended Porter Military Academy, was a 1945 graduate of Edmunds High School in Sumter, SC before enlisting in the Merchant Marines in the spring of 1945, and then transferred to the US Navy in December of 1945. His last move was to Spartanburg in 1973, working for Montgomery Industries and Piedmont Interstate Warehouse for the next 24 years. He enjoyed his many years of service to the Sertoma Club, Junior Achievement, Mobile Meals, and Southeastern Warehouse Association. A lifelong Episcopalian, Mr. Richardson was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Advent. He enjoyed golf, gardening, and 41 years of playing poker with good friends. His greatest joy was his service to his home and his family.
