Deana Henderson

Deana Mahaffey Henderson, 49, of Boiling Springs, SC, met Jesus face-to-face on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, after an 18 month courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born March 31, 1965, in Spartanburg, SC, raised in Cooley Springs, SC, she was the daughter of the late D. B. and Catherine Gilbert Mahaffey. Mrs. Henderson was a graduate of Chesnee High School and Spartanburg Technical College. She was co-owner of Benefit Resources and Planning for 23 years and worked in the insurance industry for over 25 years in the Upstate. She was a church organist at Fingerville and Arrowwood Baptist Churches for 32 years. She was also an owner of NewSpring Church and an active fitness instructor. Survivors include her loving husband of 30 years, Randy Lee Henderson; son, Brett Houston Henderson of Charleston, SC; daughter, Miranda Lee Henderson of the home; sisters, Freda Mahaffey Spivey of Spartanburg, SC, and Becky Mahaffey Giles (Lee) of Chesnee, SC; brother, Roger C. Mahaffey (Rachel) of Summerville, SC; uncle, Cecil Gilbert and his wife Barbara of Winston-Salem, NC; three nephews; two nieces; and mother and father-in-law, Heyward and Mary Ruth Henderson of Chesnee. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, August 22, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 23, 2014, at NewSpring Church-Spartanburg Campus, by Pastor Cameron O'Sullivan, the Rev. Eddie Cooper, Pastor David Hall, and the Rev. Daniel Godfrey. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, 4164 Boiling Springs Rd., Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Pallbearers are Matthew Giles, Martin Giles, Drew Mahaffey, Chance Henderson, Bryan Green, and Tony Tamburro.
