Dean Davis, Sr.

Dean Wilson Davis Sr., 85, of Spartanburg, SC, was called to his Eternal Home on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. Born October 1, 1933, in Gaffney, SC, he was the son of the late Anderson G. and Viola Osment Davis and husband of the late JoAnn Blackwelder Davis. A U. S. Army veteran and graduate of Cecil's Business College, Dean was the loyal superintendent of Floyd Cemeteries for 62 years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and former member of the Ruritan Club. Survivors include his children, Brenda Davis Walker (Steve) of Spartanburg, SC, Debra Davis Piper of Chesnee, SC, Dean W. Davis Jr. (Brenda) and Tammie Davis Brooks (Clay), all of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Shannon Walker Smith, Christopher Walker (Tricia), T. J. "Jack" Ravan, Shelley Lawson (Wayne), Christy Chapman, C. J. "Clay" Brooks (Brandi), DeAnna Lawson (Denni), Kevin Long (Shirley), and Stanley Harrison; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and companion, Joyce Swofford of Spartanburg, SC. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 11, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by The Rev. Stephen Johnson and The Rev. Richard Peters. Burial, with military rites, will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family is at the home.
