Dean Carruth

Dean Esley Carruth, 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. Dean was born in Landrum, SC to Hattie Loftis Carruth and James Esley Carruth on April 25, 1930.

Dean loved his family and will be most remembered as a devoted loving husband, father, and grandfather, who loved the Lord. He was a member and served in various leadership positions at Zion Hill Baptist Church throughout his lifetime. Dean was a member of the Masons and honorably served his country in the US Air Force.

Dean is survived by his wife of 67 years, Vivian Swofford Carruth; children, Amy Gossett (Tony); Steve Carruth (Renee); and Leisa Buss (Tim); as well as seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Carruth, and sister, Glenna Carruth.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307.

The family would like to thank everyone at Eden Terrace for their support and care over the last 9 years. They appreciate the kindness, friendliness, care, and compassion that was extended to Dean.
