David F. "Ricky" Clayton

David F. “Ricky” Clayton passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022 at the Hospice House in Spartanburg. He was born on December 19, 1946 in Spartanburg to the late Paul and Edith Clayton. He is survived by his wife, Susan C. Clayton and son, David (Jason) Clayton, and one brother, Sonny (Bootsie) Clayton of Columbus, NC. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Libby C. Corn. He leaves behind his beloved grand dogs, Cami and Lil’ Kenny Rogers.

Ricky was owner of Ricky’s Drive In for many years before retiring to Calabash, NC, where he lived for fifteen years before moving back to Spartanburg. He was a member of the Little River United Methodist Church, where he enjoyed playing his saxophone in the church band. Ricky also enjoyed playing golf and fishing with his many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations in his name be made to the Hope Remains Ranch, 1771 John Dodd Road, Wellford, SC 29385.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family is at the home, 593 Fox Run Trail, Woodruff, SC 29388.
