David Pearson

David W. Pearson, 90, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Emeritus at Skylyn Place-Spartanburg. Born April 28, 1922, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Pedro G. and Bessie Woodward Pearson. Mr. Pearson retired after 30 years of service with Amoco Oil Company and was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He was also the first assistant fire chief for Croft Fire Dept., an avid bowler in his younger years, loved to garden, and help feed the community. Surviving are his loving wife, Florence H. Pearson; son, Dane Pearson and wife Linda of Spartanburg, SC; granddaughter, Dana Guandolo and husband Bill of Charlotte, NC; and a very special great-grandson, Daniel Guandolo. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Pearson; and a sister, Eloise Pearson. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 5, 2012, in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, by the Rev. Dr. David Boyter. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
