David Lee Ross Turner, 78, of Spartanburg, died on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was born in Augusta, GA on February 9, 1933, to Murray Noel and Erie Ross Turner. David graduated from Spartanburg High School and Clemson College, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Textile Engineering. After graduation in 1955, he was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. Following his naval service, he became a stockbroker in Lakeland, FL and continued his career in Spartanburg. He was a member of the Calvary Episcopal Church in Glenn Springs, SC. He took great pleasure in gardening, reading, and studying history. David loved sharing stories about his family genealogy and Scottish heritage. Surviving are his wife, Doris T. Turner and his six step-children, Hunter, Cole, John, Laura, Joe, and Melissa Church; sister-in-law, Margery Turner; nephews, Richard Brunson, Noel Turner III, and Daniel Turner; and nieces, Penelope Brunson Loughhead, Elizabeth Brunson Abernathy, and April Turner. He was predeceased by his sister, Rangeley Turner Brunson and his brother, Murray Noel Turner. There will not be a local service. Memorial may be made to Mobile Meals, Inc., P.O.
