David Shaffer

David Michael "Wimp" Shaffer, 56, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, July 29, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born July 14, 1957, in Ft. Bragg, NC, he was the son of Margaret Puckett Shaffer of Spartanburg, SC, and the late Andrew Lee Shaffer. He was a member of Fairview Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Debra Robertson Shaffer of the home; brother, Edward Shaffer (Donna); nephews, Edward Andrew Shaffer Jr., Joseph Michael Shaffer, and Harley V. Shaffer, all of Spartanburg, SC; father-in-law, John Robertson of Spartanburg, SC; brother-in-law, Steve Robertson of Tennessee; and several uncles. In addition to his father, he is predeceased by a brother, Richard Shaffer; and niece, Morgan Ashley Shaffer. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, August 2, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Tim Hackett. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
