David Lee Nivens, Jr. 57, of Landrum, SC, flew to heaven Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Laurie Kraft Nivens, father, David Nivens, Sr., sister, Donna Bridgeman (Brian), sister, Stephania Penley (Stephen), nieces, Kaley Bridgeman and Bindy Bridgeman, nephews, Aiden Penley and Noah Penley, and many loved and cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Barbara Sorrels Nivens.
David’s infectious laugh was shared daily with his CUI work family, where he served as graphic designer. David honed his creative gifts while attending and graduating from Winthrop University in 1987.
With gratitude and love, the family wishes to thank the EMS team, the doctors, nurses, and staff who cared for him these weeks at Spartanburg Medical Center and the Upstate Community Hospice House – Agape Care, and all of our family and friends who have sustained us with countless hugs, thoughts and prayers.
Visitation will be 12:30 – 1:15 pm Monday, August 7, 2023 at First Baptist North Spartanburg, 8740 Asheville Highway, Spartanburg, SC 29316. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:30 pm at the church, conducted by The Rev. Dwayne Morris. Burial will follow the service in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, 4164 Boiling Springs Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
