David Mcrobbie

Mr. David Martyn McRobbie, age 71, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Spartanburg Regional Hospital in Spartanburg, SC. He was born at RAF Ismailia, Egypt on August 29, 1950 to the late Walter McRobbie and the late Christina McRobbie.

David is survived by his wife, Patricia McRobbie of Spartanburg, SC; his son, Andrew McRobbie of Cornwall, UK; his brother, Ian McRobbie of Chester, UK; his niece, Sarah-Jane McRobbie of Leeds, UK; and his nephew, Graeme McRobbie of Aylesbury, UK.

David had a varied career ranging from paints to business consultancy. He worked for several paint companies in Europe and after obtaining an MSc from the University of Bath, UK, he relocated to Spartanburg in 1990 to build and operate a new powder coatings facility for Trimite Ltd. He was on the board for the British American Business Association (BABASC) and was named as an Ambassador for Economic Development by then Governor, Nikki Haley for South Carolina in 2012.

A time of visitation will be held at 4:00 – 6:00 PM Friday, February 25, 2022 at Floyds Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC, 29307.
